DESCRIPTION:

ST-G30 powder contains Streptococcus salivarius ssp. thermophilus ST-G30 and a special cryoprotectant agent. Streptococcus salivarius subsp. thermophilus ST-G30 is characterized as gram-positive, anaerobic, catalase-negative, rod-shaped, non-spore forming, and non-motile. Intake of Streptococcus salivarius subsp. thermophilus ST-G30 benefits its host by improving the intestinal flora balance and inhibiting any harmful bacteria growth.

Streptococcus salivarius subsp.thermophilus (previous name S. thermophilus), is characterized as gram-positive, anaerobic, catalase-negative, rod-shaped, non-spore forming, and non-motile. It is also capable of generating energy, in the form of adenosine triphosphate (ATP), by aerobic respiration with the presence of oxygen; however, without the presence of oxygen, it can still produce ATP through fermentation. S. thermophilus lacks cytochrome, oxidase, and catalase enzymes. It does not have motility and it does not form spores. Although S. thermophilus is closely related to other pathogenic streptococci (such as Streptococcus pneumoniae and Streptococcus pyogenes), S. thermophilus is classified as a non-pathogenic, alpha-hemolytic species that is part of the viridians group.
