Bifidobacterium bifidum is a Gram-positive, rod-shaped bacterium commonly found in the human digestive tract. It is present in the colon, the terminal part of the small intestine, and breast milk, and is also commonly found in the vagina. Bifidobacterium bifidum aids the body in absorbing calcium, iron, magnesium, and other vitamins and minerals, and produces lactic acid to inhibit the growth of pathogenic bacteria
Bifidobacterium bifidum BB-G90 was isolated from the feces of healthy adults in Inner Mongolia. Bifidobacterium bifidum BB-G90 (Figure 1) is a member of the Bifidobacterium family, which has been used for a long time. Bifidobacteria are dominant in the intestines of infants, and research suggests that individuals with longer lifespans tend to have a higher proportion of bifidobacteria.
