DESCRIPTION:

Gram-positive, alpha-hemolytic or nonhemolytic bacterium, can be commensal (innocuous, coexisting organism) in the gastrointestinal tract of humans and animals. It can resist bile salts, detergents, heavy metals, ethanol, azide, desiccation and grow in the range of 10°C to 45 °C, and survive at temperatures of 60 °C for 30 min. E. faecium plays an important role in maintaining the balance of the intestinal flora, especially contributing to young animals' intestinal health care and disease prevention and treatment.
