BA-G77 powder is a probiotic additive, containing the Bacillus  amyloliquefaciens  BA-G77 and also a dilution carrier such as the glucose  anhydrousetc. The  Bacillus amyloliquefaciens BA-G77  is a bacteria with the below character:

Gram-positive, Catalase-positive, with the spore form, Rod-shaped bacteria, metabolism prefer mesophilic temperature and aerobic condition. The spore formed Bacillus spp. are with good resistant to the environment temperature, it can be long time stored in temperature around 60ºC and even can survive 20minutes in temperature above 120ºC when the spore form in stable condition, but the animal/human gastric and water orhumidity etc can help to transfer the bacteria from spore form to active status. The Bacillus bacteria is  using its vegetable cell which composed of peptidoglycan to coordinate this inactive/active metabolism.

B. amyloliquefaciens is studied and used for long time, even much earlier than antibiotic discovery, it was regarded as the alternative medicine in aperiod for bacteria treatment, from the summarized study results, the metabolism of the B. amyloliquefaciens is mainly  as:
 

• Oxygen consumption by aerobic metabolism to help to boost the other anaerobic bacteria especially the friendly lactic acid bacteria to grow up, the further metabolism from the lactic acid bacteria can also produce more organic acid to compete and inhibit the pathogens growing up.
• Enzyme production ability It is the source of the BamH1 restriction enzyme and subtilisin, catalyzing the breakdown of proteins in a similar way to trypsin.
• Vitamins and anti-bodies production ability, It synthesizes a natural antibiotic protein barnase, a widely studied ribonuclease that forms a famously tight complex with its intracellular inhibitor barstar, and plantazolicin, an antibiotic with selective activity against Bacillus anthracis.

B. amyloliquefaciens is considered a root-colonizing biocontrol bacteria, and is used to fight some plant root pathogens in agriculture, aquaculture and hydroponics. It has been shown to provide benefits to plants in both soil and hydroponic applications. It takes action against bacterial and fungi pathogens, and may prevent infection though competitive exclusion or out-competing the unwanted pathogen. It has been shown to be effective against several root pathogens that hurt agricultural yields in soil and hydroponics, such as Ralstonia solanacearum in tomatoes, Rhizoctonia solani in lettuce, Pythium in tomatoes, Alternaria tenuissima in English ivy and Fusarium in bananas and cucumbers. It also appears to improve root tolerance against abiotic stress, allowing plants such as maize to tolerate high salt concentrations in hydroponic applications, while also reducing salt concentrations in the plant tissue.
